How
do you spell FUN!. . . .
p-h-r-o-t-a-r-y, that's
how! In the Pleasant Hill Rotary Club we rank having a good time right up there
with supporting the community. Members and spouses alike enjoy many social
activities throughout the year, including (but not limited to) our annual
Sweetheart Day, St. Patrick's Night of Merriment, RATS night, Demotion Dinner dinner/theatre evening, and the
Holiday party. And we may throw in an extra Bocce Ball tournament or Bay
cruise...or even a trip abroad! |
Happy 100th Birthday,

Master of Ceremonies, Mark
Curtis of KTVU
Although Curtis officially joined
KTVU in January 1999, he's been appearing on Fox 2 since 1993, as Capitol
Correspondent in our bureau in Washington, D.C. Now, Curtis co-anchors The
KTVU Morning News and provides reports for other KTVU newscasts as well.
He's originally from Milwaukee,
where he graduated with a degree in Broadcast Communication from Marquette
University in 1981. While there, he received a Distinguished Student Service
Award for his work as Program Director at WMUR Radio. In 1986, he received a
Masters Degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville.
He's received numerous awards for
his work, including the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association's
"1989 Best Documentary" award in 1989 for a report on sightings of
Unidentified Flying Objects. And the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters
Association honored him with three awards including "Outstanding Spot News
Coverage" in 1990 and 1992, and "Outstanding Enterprise/Investigative
Report" in 1991. When asked about his new position at KTVU, Curtis responded
enthusiastically, "It's great driving to work at 2 a.m. No rush-hour
commute!" |

Keynote
Speaker, Mike Kutsuris
Mike Kutsuris calls Hayward South
Rotary Club his home club. District Governor of (then) District 517,
Rotary Director 1981-83, served on the International Executive Committee
1982-82, led a GSE Team to Brazil, Chartered 3 Rotary Clubs and 2
provisional clubs, was Chair of the 1998 Rotary International Convention in
Indianapolis (he did get to go around the Indy track in a pace car, which
must have been pretty cool.)
Mike has received the Rotary
Service Above Self Award and a Meritorious Service Award from RI. Mike
knows....there are opportunities available to each and every one of us in
Rotary. It is never too late to get involved. Mike says....of course being
involved in Rotary at an international level is very important, however...we
can not forget about the needs of our own community.
Mike will share with us some great
stories about his experiences in Rotary -experiences that we all can share!
